Geoffrey Brown OAM, FCA joins Brooke
Brooke is proud to announce that Mr Geoffrey (Geoff) Brown OAM, FCA will be joining Brooke as Managing Partner, Government, on the 30 September. Geoff will be based in Canberra but will have contact with both Federal and State Governments around Australia.
Geoff has had an extensive career driving major process and cultural reform and system changes in both the Public and Private Sectors. He has held many senior executive roles in several blue-chip multinational organisations, most recently in Defence and the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Geoff joined Defence in 2009 as the Chief Audit Executive, later renamed First Assistant Secretary Audit and Fraud Control Division. In 2017 he was seconded to the Office of Prime Minister and
Cabinet to lead the Task Force directed to develop a national approach to the management of the extremely sensitive national PFAS contamination issue. At the end of his 12-month secondment, he returned to Defence to take up the position of First Assistant Secretary Budgets and Financial Services within the Chief Finance Office Group.
Geoff said: “Brooke has an outstanding reputation for its single-minded focus on delivering desired outcomes for clients who are undergoing large scale reform and I am excited to be a part of an organisation that is so strong in that area”.
Prior to joining Defence, Geoff was the CEO of a Macquarie Bank infrastructure fund in the UAE. He has worked and lived in countries across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe with several organisations including Qantas, Unilever and Mobil Oil. Many of Geoff’s roles have involved restructuring and the development of efficient and effective governance systems.
Brooke has considerable Federal Government expertise in helping implement major reform programmes particularly with Border Protection and Defence and is excited to be able to combine its unique abilities with Geoff’s undoubted ability to lead change across government.
